Balanced Wellness requires the caring support of a family. Much like parents and children, there is a deep dependence and trust that binds our families. Balanced Wellness Small Groups can also serve as a family. They share a common charter, vision, standards and boundaries, and follow common ground rules and plans of action. Our success in balanced wellness will depend on our family, in whatever form that takes.
Positive validation strengthens and protects our hearts emotionally, while negatives wound us, leaving our core vulnerable. It takes six positive validations on average to overcome the emotional damage of a single negative.
Our relationships are important to our health and wellbeing. The pursuit of wellness requires encouragement, caring support, love and understanding. The more of this we have, the greater our chances of success. Building and strengthening families is an important step in balanced wellness.
